Like wine, the best green tea is the product of a specific
year, and we have just received the first tea of 2008. We
have secured a small allocation of some of the first teas
of the season - the 'first flush', or first pickings from
the tea bushes.
For the people of China, green tea is a science,
an art and a subject for life-long study.
They have been drinking green tea and feeling its benefits for thousands
of years. In the West, we are really only now getting our first taste
and our first understanding of this fantastic drink. There are hundreds
of different kinds of green tea and it can be hard to know where to
start.
At greenteaonline.co.uk we
have deliberately kept our selection of tea quite small. We narrowed it down after extensive tasting to what
we believe is a good representation of the kinds of flavours that
will appeal to Western palates. These are high quality teas, imported
directly from China, and offered to you at excellent prices.
We are green tea enthusiasts who want everyone
to be able to enjoy the delicious flavours and the health properties
it offers. We also know there are some poor quality green teas being
sold at the moment and are determined to give everyone the chance
to try ‘the real thing’. We have described as accurately
as we can the flavours of each tea we offer, and who we think it would
appeal to.
