Oolong tea goes through a complex series of procedures, giving it rich, fragrant and subtle flavours. The teas (sometimes called Wu-long) are somewhere between green teas and black teas in style. The leaves are withered like green tea, but are then shaken in bamboo baskets to encourage oxidation, then pan-fired at high temperature and hand-rolled. Oolongs range from light and fresh styles to dark and smoky.

Postage costs for tea orders are £2.50 - whatever the amount you buy.

Huang Jin Gui Oolong
Oolong Tea Full of floral, fragrant aromas of honeysuckle flowers and dried fruit, and fresh, rounded flavours, this is a great introduction to oolong tea. From Anxi, in Fujian Province, this oolong is similar in style to the Te Guan Yi Oolongs (see below) with plenty of fragrant aromatics, and represents great value for the quality. Give it a try if you’re thinking of exploring oolong.
£4.50 for 50g.

Niai Xiang Oolong
Oolong tea An oolong from Taiwan (sometimes known as Formosa Oolong), one of the other main areas for high quality oolong teas. This tea has a distinctive milky aroma, mixed with notes of soft caramel toffee and dried fruit. There are hints of malt and sweet raisined fruit.
A great contrast to the Huang Jin Gui above.
£4.50 for 50g.

Jade Tie Guan Yi Oolong
Oolong Tea This is very classy oolong. With fragrant aromas of orchid blossom and honeysuckle, this tea has subtle but enduring floral flavour, backed up by a refreshing fruity tone. The orchid notes carry right through to a lingering aftertaste. This is our best quality oolong, and from the moment you open the bag you will be hit by the complex aromas of this tea. Tie Guan Yi is probably the best-known style of oolong tea, grown in An Xi in Fujian Province, but few of them are of this quality.
£6.99 for 50g.

Rou Gui Oolong
Oolong Tea A different flavour profile from the other oolongs, this is a darker leaf, formed into long twists, and when infused has a rich, slightly smoky taste alongside the distinct oolong fragrance, with hints of cinnamon spice. Slightly closer to a black tea in style than the other oolongs above, this is a refreshing but full-bodied tea.
£6.50 for 50g.
